Marketing is important, not only in business, but also when it comes to representing yourself in the job market. Last week, I helped with our local Extension office’s event “Connecting the Dots: A Career Exploration Day”. This event was targeted towards local 9th & 10th graders to help them understand more about their key areas of interest. Employers helped serve as information sources about career paths, education needed and the types of job opportunities available. It was a nice atmosphere for students to learn about their options and what education it will take to get to where they want to go. - Understand your platform and how users engage on that platform. If you aren’t sure what platform to use, ask your favorite customers what platforms they are currently on. To understand how consumers interact on social media, this chart depicts some interesting information (published December 2018 in Hubspot). The first column tells the social media platform, the second column is the consumers main reason for why they use that platform and the third & fourth columns showcase low and high performing content, respectively. Put some thought into what platform you are on and what resonates with the audience of that platform.
