Five Tips for Developing Your Social Media Strategy in 2019

If one of your business goals for the new year is to start a social media campaign – or be more consistent with your current one, then I have FIVE tips to get your creativity rolling! 

  1. Understand your platform and how users engage on that platform. If you aren’t sure what platform to use, ask your favorite customers what platforms they are currently on. To understand how consumers interact on social media, this chart depicts some interesting information (published December 2018 in Hubspot). The first column tells the social media platform, the second column is the consumers main reason for why they use that platform and the third & fourth columns showcase low and high performing content, respectively. Put some thought into what platform you are on and what resonates with the audience of that platform.hubspot content by channel

What’s Your Word for 2019?

It’s no secret that I LOVE PODCASTS! They are entertaining, informative and inspirational. With over 630,000 different shows to subscribe to, you can take your pick on whatever topic your little heart desires. Many of the podcasts I discovered in 2018 were related to helping me learn about a new topic for my business or on the inspirational side for personal & professional growth. I have enjoyed tuning in when I am on the road, working out or as part of my morning routine. New Year, Fresh Start – Planning for 2019!

December can be a hectic month with many activities and things to do, but it’s absolutely one of my favorite times of the year! I love the time with family, the good food and finding thoughtful presents to give!! A Growth Mindset vs A Fixed Mindset

I recently attended a conference where they talked about a fixed mindset vs a growth mindset. It’s an interesting concept about how we can approach our personal & professional lives and I thought it was worth sharing. 

Here’s a little background (from Carol Dweck, author of Mindset: The New Psychology of Success):

In a fixed mindset, one believes their basic abilities, their intelligence, their talents, are just fixed traits. They have a certain amount and that’s that, and then their goal becomes to look smart all the time and never look dumb.

In a growth mindset, one understands that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching and persistence. They don’t necessarily think everyone’s the same or anyone can be Einstein, but they believe everyone can get smarter if they work at it.
