What It’s Like to Have a Crazy Mom

Oops, excuse me, I must have had a typo in the title, I meant to say: What It’s Like to Have a CRAZY GOOD Mom. 🙂  Forgive me, I’m in marketing, I have to write headlines to attract attention, so now that you’re here, you might as well read on, right?  I am laughing to myself because I’m from a small town and I live in a small town, so the people who know my mom were probably confused by the blog title. As far as they have always known, Sandy Frey is a really GREAT person. Well, I have some news for you! She most definitely is! Plus, I like that I have likely scared my mom a little with the post title. Since she is a CRAZY GOOD mom, she reads all of my content and is probably one of my biggest fans. She also is the source of my weird & clever sense of humor. 🙂 Sorry that I startled all of you, but please read on, I actually do get to some good stuff. Productivity Tips to Become Wildly Successful

I love meeting with clients and helping them figure out ways to be more efficient in their business. I find it exhilarating to brainstorm ideas with business owners about what success can look like for them – and letting them dream a little, knowing that anything is attainable when they put their minds to work.

Oftentimes, an initial client consult might have questions like this in it:

  • What does it look like to be wildly successful?
  • Thinking about success, what’s that look like for you/your business in three years? How about five years?
  • What’s part of your business do you absolutely love?

Recent Client Meetings Offer a Walk Down Memory Lane

My work continues to bring me such a feeling of joy as I help small businesses navigate their marketing & business plans! Recently, I’ve been hitting the highways of Nebraska to meet up with clients for one-on-one assistance, many of those trips are up into the north central part of the state. On each drive, I love the quiet time and walk down memory lane it provides to me. That part of Nebraska has a special meaning to me because growing up, my dad had a custom hay business and I was one of his “hired” hands. We grew up around Albion, Nebraska and he had quite a few customers there, but as his business grew, he expanded and moved into the Clearwater, Ewing, Emmet, Bassett & Atkinson areas. From alfalfa to prairie hay, he loved the custom hay business and I loved getting to spend time working alongside him. As I drive into that area of Nebraska, I can feel my heart grow fond as I take in the simple beauty of a growing hay meadow on my drives. Some hay meadows are waiting to be cut and some are filled full of fresh round bales, a sign of a hard day’s work. It’s beautiful to see Mother Nature do it’s thing to provide a bountiful crop. During my summers in those areas, we were fortunate to work with some of the nicest people and I know that it’s where my passion for nature and agriculture developed. 2019 Goal Check-in: Reflect. Celebrate. Focus.

It’s hard to believe we are on month SIX in 2019. How did that happen? I feel like this year is flying by, but I think that’s how it always seems to go because time flies when you’re having fun, right?!  Between all of the roles we play as a parent, spouse, career-person, friend, volunteer, etc, we seem to always be busy and on-the-go! This post is a challenge for you to take time on a little reflection of how far you’ve come this year. Continue reading → 2019 Goal Check-in: Reflect. Celebrate. Focus.

Hiking is like Life.

I have always been the outdoorsy type, loved growing up on a farm & exploring  nature. A few years ago, my sister & her significant other introduced me to hiking while in Colorado & I’ve been hooked ever since. Recently, on a hike up Camelback Mountain in Arizona with my husband, Brandon, it made me think about how hiking is like life.

Being Intentional with Your Time

Everybody has the same 168 hours in a week – and those hours sure fill up fast, don’t they?! One of my focus areas in 2019 was to use my time more effectively, mainly because billable hours = my paycheck! As I have been more conscientious of my time, I have discovered some tips that work well for me and help improve my overall work & life flow. I currently work from home and have in previous portions of my career too, so some of the tips are ones I’ve implemented for years and others are relatively new. I thought they were worth sharing – hopefully you can take a few of the tips and reclaim some hours in your schedule too! Continue reading → Being Intentional with Your Time

Animal Symbols in Nature

I am a big believer in signs that help guide you in life. There are so many signs in nature and it’s probably why I love living on a farm because I get to experience that connection on a daily basis. Like whenever I see a cardinal outside our window, I always feel like that’s a visitor from Heaven, just checking in on us! It always brings a warmth to my heart. It’s been fun to share that thought with our kids and how expressive they get when a cardinal comes for a visit on the farm!

Lately, I have noticed a bald eagle that has been visiting our place and I just feel like he is a sign to me personally. We’ve seen him perched on trees in the grove, swooping up our lane, perched in the corn stalks and this weekend, he spent some time in our lawn (chewing on a dead animal that our dogs drug up – yuck)! But he fascinates me and I notice him a few times a week. So, naturally, I had to Google what it means to have an eagle visit and it’s was kind of neat to read about. Here are the main points I found: Continue reading → Animal Symbols in Nature
